Dear friends, colleagues and members of the local business community:
It is with great excitement and anticipation that we share this news with you today. Bakke Norman is now serving Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley from our new Eau Claire office located in the historic Strobel Building, 130 South Barstow Street, Suite 1C.
For over 35 years, Bakke Norman has served individuals, businesses and municipalities throughout Northwest Wisconsin. Since our founding as three attorneys operating from the New Richmond Heritage Center, through expansion into multiple offices in the St. Croix and Chippewa Valleys, we have focused our efforts on providing exceptional service to our clients and being responsible citizens in our communities. We continue that commitment by adding three of the region’s most accomplished attorneys: Christine Gimber, William Wallo and MaiVue Xiong.
Christine Gimber is an Eau Claire native. For the past 28 years she has represented local financial institutions, businesses and individuals in creditor matters and other business disputes. She has also been deeply involved in the community, having served on the Board of Directors of the Family Resource Center, the Wildlands Science and Research School of Fall Creek, and the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce, currently as a member of its Agri-Business Committee.
Bill Wallo served for 18 years as the Attorney Clerk for the Western District of Wisconsin Bankruptcy Court, based in Eau Claire. Since leaving the court he has represented businesses, individuals and financial institutions in commercial transactions, financial restructuring, bankruptcy and related litigation. He is the Chair of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Bankruptcy Section, rated “AV-Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell, recognized by Wisconsin Super Lawyers and is listed in the Best Lawyers in America. Bill serves on the board of his church and volunteers for the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center, the Chippewa Valley Book Festival, the Chamber of Commerce, the Eau Claire Economic Development Corporation and Momentum West.
MaiVue Xiong is an Eau Claire native who received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Wisconsin—Madison. She represents small and large businesses with their transactional and contractual needs including negotiation and drafting of buy/sell agreements, financing and real estate documents, as well as compliance with trademark law. MaiVue is the current Executive Director of the Pablo Foundation, serves on the boards of the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce and the State Bar of Wisconsin Business Law Section, and is on Governor Tony Evers’ Judicial Selection Advisory Committee.
Tim O’Brien will also practice out of our Eau Claire office. Tim grew up in Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire. His practice focuses on personal injury, business litigation and the defense of individuals accused of serious crimes. Tim is certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, rated “AV-Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell, and is recognized among the top 5% of litigators in Wisconsin by Super Lawyers. He also has a long history of service to the legal profession and to the community, and has been honored as the State Bar of Wisconsin Pro Bono Attorney of the Year and the New Richmond Area Citizen of the Year.
We are excited to welcome our new attorneys, open our new office and to join the Chippewa Valley business community. While an open house will have to wait, please visit www.bakkenorman.com to learn more about the attorneys and the services we provide.
